Any individual, registered as a patient with the Westgate Practice, is invited to contribute to this group.
Members can make suggestions regarding services or processes thus enabling us to enhance your experience of the Practice. It may also be an opportunity for you to influence the local NHS. Suggestions can be submitted via email by clicking on 'Contact Us' on the top left hand menu and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Your perspective, as a patient, is crucial. Patient engagement is essential if we are to develop a successful working partnership for the future.
We will consult you about the services we provide and your views invited. We shall then review your comments and inform you of any changes or developments we are planning in response to your input.
The Patient Participation Group is not a forum for raising a complaint. If you have any concerns about the Practice, its services or processes, please contact the Patient Services Officer who will address these directly using the NHS complaints procedure.
For the Virtual Patient Reference Group sign up form please click on the 'Virtual Patient Reference Group' tab.
Our Virtual Patient Reference Group is a group of patients who have signed up to receive questionnaires via email from time to time regarding various different topics relating to the practice.
Questionnaire topics could be on proposed changes to the services that we offer, or to obtain views on ways that the practice could improve in different areas.
We hope that by inviting and listening to your ideas and feedback, we may be able to develop the services we provide in the future. You may submit ideas and feedback at any time via the 'Contact Us' tab at the top left hand side of the screen, and then scrolling to the bottom of the page to the link.

What is the Friends and Family Test?
The Friends and Family Test (FFT) is a feedback tool which offers patients the opportunity to provide feedback about the care and treatment they have received. The FFT combines a simple question, asking patients how likely they would be to recommend the service they have received to their friends and family; with a follow-up question to enable patients to provide further detail about their experience. Practices are free to choose the subject and wording of the second question. The responses to the two questions are anonymous.
Each month the Practice will collect the anonymous data from the responses we receive and submit it to the NHS. We will also post the results to the first question each quarter on this PPG page. The responses made by patients to the second question will be used by the practice to improve its services to patients.
In the third quarter of 2017/2018 (October -December) we received 125 responses:
Extremely Likely 104 Likely 16 Neither Likely nor Unlikely 0 Unlikely 3 Extremely Unlikely 2 Don't Know 0
We are very pleased that 96% of our patients said they were ‘very likely’ or ‘likely’ to recommend us to their family or friends.
Thank you to all who have participated and helped us to make a difference. Please keep your comments coming and together we can hopefully deliver the changes needed to provide you and your family with the best possible health care, advice and support.
